Councils boost pedal power to over-50s

12 April 2012

Camden and Westminster councils are launching schemes to get older residents riding.

They will offer lessons, guided rides and even bicycle care courses for the over-fifties on 7-8 April.

"It's really admirable these two boroughs have chosen to support this project," said Gwen Cook, organiser of the Agewell project, which already operates in Hammersmith and Fulham.

Mrs Cook is hopeful it will be extended further across London.

Participants can sign up for five lessons for £10.
