Damon set to marry Affleck's PA

Matt Damon is to marry Odessa Whitmore, the former personal assistant of his best friend Ben Affleck, it emerged today.

Damon, 32, broke the news to friends after arriving at a New York charity benefit arminarm with Ms Whitmore, 27, who was wearing a three-carat diamond on her engagement finger.

Damon, who has dated Minnie Driver and Winona Ryder, had previously shot down talk of marriage.

"I'm not engaged. I have no plans to get married or have kids," he said this year.

"I've got my nephews. That's about all the responsibility I can handle right now."

Damon did not reveal when the wedding will happen, but one source said it would not be until Affleck tied the knot with Jennifer Lopez.

Last week it emerged that Damon's friendship with Affleck had come in the way of the latter's engagement.

A furious J-Lo was said to have postponed their Valentine's Day wedding after hearing best man Damon tried to talk Affleck out of marrying her until they got to know one another better.
