Daybreak audience drops to new low

ITV's troubled breakfast show Daybreak has seen its audience sink to a new low of half a million.

The programme, hosted by Adrian Chiles and Christine Bleakley, trailed behind its BBC rival Breakfast, which drew three times as many viewers.

The figures for yesterday's show, whose guests included Hollywood actress Julianne Moore, are a fresh blow for the programme, which has battled to match the audience of its predecessor GMTV.
