Terrified diners were injured when a huge chandelier came crashing down from the ceiling at one of Raymond Blanc’s restaurants.

The 10ft-wide light landed on customers as they ate their meals and shattered, leaving shards of glass strewn across the tables at the celebrity chef’s chain Brasserie Blanc.

Diner Claire Hurst tweeted a picture of the broken chandelier lying on a table top surrounded by shattered glass on Sunday.

She wrote: “Terrifying lunch at the Blanc Brasserie when a chandelier fell from the ceiling!! #solucky.”
