DIY boom drives Travis Perkins

BUILDERS' merchant Travis Perkins said there was little sign of a slowdown in the UK's booming DIY market today as it reported an 18% jump in pre-tax profits to £162.7m for 2003.

Chief executive Frank McKay said the shortage of new homes and changing demographics continued to drive demand. The full-year dividend is up by 25% to 24.4p per share.
