Don't write me off yet: Sara Payne out of coma

Child protection campaigner Sara Payne, who was fighting for her life after a relapse from a brain aneurysm, has begun to talk again.

The 40-year-old came out of a coma and told friends "Don't write me off yet." She had been taken to St George's Hospital on 23 December suffering complications following brain surgery in 2008.

Mrs Payne, whose daughter Sarah was killed by a convicted paedophile in 2000, was given an MBE in 2008 for services to child protection.
