Drax in rush to beat bid talks deadline

DRAX, the coal-fired Yorkshire power station, is rushing to finalise takeover talks with three bidders ahead of a deadline tomorrow for closing a deal.

It said it was still talking with Goldman Sachs although the US investment bank's offer lapsed yesterday, and also remains in negotiations with utility International Power and multinational mining firm BHP Billiton.
