'Drunk' Heathrow bomb threat man faces court

12 April 2012

A man will go on trial today accused of making a bomb threat while drunk on a flight from London's Heathrow Airport.

Ronald Fowles, 59, denies saying there was a bomb on board Emirates flight EK004 to Dubai when staff challenged him about his alleged drunken behaviour while the Boeing 777 was taxiing at Heathrow on January 8 last year.

He will appear at Southwark Crown Court in London alongside Alexander McGinn, 49, who denies being drunk on the same aircraft.

Fowles, of Edred Road, Dover, Kent, denies communicating false information with intent.

Fowles and McGinn, of Evison Close, Dover, both deny being drunk on an aircraft.
