EasyJet lavishes praise on Go

THE head of easyJet, the low cost carrier hit by a passenger sit-in last weekend, has admitted that its newly-acquired rival Go often provides a better service.

EasyJet chief executive Ray Webster said: 'There are certain things that Go does better. It is better at looking after customers both on board and in its after-sales service. We want to bring these things forward into the easyJet model.'

More than 130 angry easyJet passengers refused to leave their plane in Nice on Sunday when they were told to transfer to another flight.

The widely-admired Go brand, developed by former chief executive Barbara Cassani, is set to disappear by early next year following easyJet's £374m takeover, which was completed today. The Go name will start to disappear from 1 December when the sales staff start selling all tickets under the easyJet banner.

Webster said the most urgent task was to decide on the location of the combined company headquarters. EasyJet has always been based at Luton but is considering moving to Stansted, where Go has its HQ.
