Fat slags to go large

Cult comic book characters the Fat Slags, from Viz, are to be turned into big screen stars. Film Four and Artists Independent are planning to turn the terrible two's adventures into a feature length movie. A host of celebrities including Geri Halliwell are set to win parts.

Under the helm of Kevin and Perry Go Large director, Ed Bye, filming of the sluttish two will begin later this month with Smack the Pony star Fiona Allen and period actress Sophie Thompson playing the notorious good-time girls from Newcastle.

When plans for the movie were first announced a few years ago Minnie Driver and Gwyneth Paltrow were lined up to play the two slags.

However the founders of Viz Magazine, brothers Chris and Simon McDonald are reported to have slammed the plans and revealed that they have never given permission for their characters to be used and will not be playing any part in the making of the movie.
