Firms breaking rules on asbestos

MORE than 700,000 British companies are in breach of asbestos regulations that come into force today. Law firm Davies Arnold Cooper says firms are flouting the new rules by failing to carry out as asbestos assessment in their business premises.

The cost to industry of full compliance has been estimated at £80bn.
