Flat from cult television series Spaced is let - to two young professional sharers
It is a case of life imitating art in Tufnell Park, as two professional sharers are set to move into the house occupied by Tim and Daisy in the hit sitcom Spaced.
The two-bedroom flat in a Grade II listed building in Carleton Road - known as 23 Meteor Street on the show - was let within three weeks of being put up for rent by TMD Properties in Highgate.
The ground floor flat was the setting for the Channel 4 show, in which Tim, played by Simon Pegg, and Daisy, played by Jessica Hynes, moved in together as a young professional couple despite barely knowing each other.
The flat was listed for £1,993 a month, more than five times more than the bargain rent Tim and Daisy enjoyed back in 1999.
Joel Woudstra, assistant manager at TMD Properties told the Ham&High: “It’s two professional sharers – a man and a woman – which fits really well with Spaced.
“It went quite quickly. Because it was put around the internet and in the news we got a lot more interest.”
“They did see all the stuff that went online but they had actually already seen the property before that happened. It may have influenced them but I don’t want to say for certain. I think it was more of a bonus really.”
