Four held over ‘terror plot in Dorset’

12 April 2012

Three men and a 16-year-old teenager were being quizzed today over allegedly preparing or instigating acts of terrorism.

The group were initially arrested on suspicion of being in the country illegally after police launched a probe into their activities. The four were among six people arrested in a raid in Poole, Dorset.

Officers arrested the group last Wednesday but only revealed they had made the arrests in a statement released last night.

A spokesman for Dorset Police said: "While the investigation is continuing there is currently no identified threat or risk of harm to the people of Dorset or the United Kingdom."

They were being held on suspicion of being concerned in the commission, preparation or instigation of acts of terrorism.
