France sells slice of Renault for £860m

THE French government today sold an 8.5% stake in car-maker Renault, raising e1.21bn (£860m) through a share placing to ease the budget deficit. It retains 17.4% of Renault. Paris is also expected to sell stakes in Air France, Autoroutes du Sud de la France and other firms.
