Fugitive Nadir wants legal aid

FUGITIVE tycoon Asil Nadir will seek legal aid if he returns to face fraud charges. The former Polly Peck boss will also be seeking taxpayers' cash to bring action against the Serious Fraud Office for 'abuse of process'.

Nadir, 62, hopes to return from Northern Cyprus where he fled in 1993 to escape charges of fraud. But the Turkish Cypriot wants a deal so he can remain out on bail rather than be imprisoned.
