Game of other halves: TV pub soccer for women

Women-only football screenings have been launched in a pub so new female fans can learn about the game without being intimidated by men.

Sky Sports presenter Charlotte Jackson, 33, will host the matches at the Colonel Fawcett pub in Camden and explain the game to new female fans. Run by Arsenal FC sponsor Indesit, the scheme kicks off with Sunderland v Blackburn on December 11.

Research by Indesit found one in three women believes having a good knowledge of the game would lead to them spending more quality time with their partner.
