Tour De France
PS2/XBox

Until now, the videogame version of the world's greatest endurance test has remained at the back of the bike shed.
This may be down to the difficulty of recreating eight-hour stages and 'thrilling' races. Thankfully, Konami has found a happy medium between a real-life simulation and button-bashing hell. After allocating attributes to your rider, you hit the road.
A learning curve sees you conserving energy, using other riders' slipstreams and making judicious use of water. It's hardly Gran Turismo, but Le Tour fares surprisingly well. (BE)

Valhalla Chronicles
PC

Set against Norse mythology backdrop, Valhalla Chronicles is a single player RPG with little going for it.
The opening clip is poor and looks like it belongs on a Megadrive, while the gameplay is annoying and linear with nothing to really grab your attention. Mouse controls are badly set; this comes to light when you click on a merchant to trade with and end up accidentally thumping him.
If you want a decent RPG, I recommend you buy Dungeon Siege instead. (SR)
