Gang used fake gun in five-month robbery spree

12 April 2012

Four men from a gang which robbed 14 bookmakers and cash vans face years in prison.

The masked raiders terrorised staff and the public with a fake gun during the five-month spree which began at William Hill in Brockley.

They took thousands from tills at betting shops in Brockley, Deptford, Peckham and New Cross.

Mohamed Mohamed, 26, of Nunhead, with Abdi Sharif-Aliand Ibrahim Ndugwa, both 18 and of Brockley, were found guilty of conspiracy to rob and possessing an imitation firearm with intent at Inner London crown court.

The judge cleared them of conspiracy to possess a firearm.

Said Mohamed, 36, deemed unfit for trial, was also found to have been involved.

They are due for sentencing on May 20.
