Girl, 12, 'was prostitute for pocket money'

A girl aged 12 worked as a prostitute in exchange for "pocket money" to buy sweets and crisps, according to police sources.
The youngster had sex with up to 10 men at a block of flats in Islington.
She has been taken into care by social workers after police raided the block.
A senior police source said the girl received less than £5 from the men and told investigators she used the money to buy the snacks.
The source said: "The girl has told us her dad didn't give her enough money to buy the things her friends had.
"She started carrying out sexual favours for one man in the block up to a year ago.
"Word spread and she started seeing a number of men."
