I was petrified, says pregnant mother who woke to face fox

Plea: Lianne Scott wants fox removed but cannot afford to pay catchers
Laura Roberts12 April 2012

A pregnant woman told how she woke up to find a fox face-to-face with her in bed.

Lianne Scott, 24, who is due to give birth to her second child today, was woken by the animal at 2am.

She said: "I felt something touch my arm. I opened my eyes and I was face to face with a fox. I was petrified. I'm surprised it didn't send me into labour to be honest."

The single mother, whose first child turns two this month, has sealed the cat flat at her home in Carshalton.

She said that after recent publicity over fox attacks she wanted the animal removed but the RSPCA will collect a fox only if it has already been caught and private catchers charge more than £100.

She said: "I would have thought after all these attacks there might be more support out there for someone like me. I can't afford to pay for one."
