International cyclist couple offer reward for stolen bike

Reward: Damien and Gill Waugh's bike
12 April 2012

THEY managed to get all the way from Beijing to London without any security breaches.

But after cycling 10,000 miles in six months, Damien and Gill Waugh are offering a £500 reward for the safe return of Mr Waugh's bicycle which was stolen from Euston Station on Sunday.

He said: "The bicycle was very special and has a large sentimental value to me."

The couple asked anybody with information about the turquoise bike to contact the Standard.

Among the countries the couple crossed were China, Kazakhstan, Russia and France. Last year 23,000 bikes were reported stolen in London, an average of 63 per day - up 30 per cent on last year - with unreported thefts estimated to add another 40,000 to 60,000.
