Actress Olivia Williams has given birth to a baby girl.

The British star of The Sixth Sense and her husband Rhashan Stone are celebrating the arrival of daughter Esme Ruby.

She was born yesterday weighing 7lbs 10oz.
Williams, 36, chose to have the baby on the NHS in London's University College Hospital.

A spokeswoman for the actress said: "Both mother and daughter are well and the couple are thrilled with the safe arrival of their first child.

"They wish to extend their enormous thanks to all the NHS staff at UCH for their kindness and care."

Williams married Stone, 33, an actor and playwright, in November.

The Cambridge-educated actress got her big break when Kevin Costner picked her for the lead role in 1997 film The Postman.

She went on to star as Bruce Willis's wife in The Sixth Sense.

Recently she appeared in period drama To Kill A King and the film adaptation of Peter Pan.
