Joan's hen night is back on

The secret wedding plans of Joan Collins are keeping her busy, with just days to go.

Following yesterday's announcement that her hen night at The Ivy was off after news of the venue leaked out, the Standard has learned it's back on - at a different West End restaurant on Friday night.

The latest understanding of wedding guests is that her marriage to 36-year-old Percy Gibson will take place on Sunday at a central London hotel, but in the meantime the actress has a million and one things to do.

In between meetings with dress designers, make-up artists and jewellers, Miss Collins, 68, managed to nip off for a quick girls' lunch with her oldest friend Judy Bryer who had just stepped off the plane from Los Angeles.

Clutching a Tiffany & Co bag containing a present for Ms Bryer, the star of Dynasty looked stunning in a brown leather suit and matching highheeled boots as she climbed into her chauffeur-driven car.

Betraying not a flicker of prewedding nerves, Miss Collins revealed that she and her groom would be following a quaint wedding tradition. "Percy and I will spend the night before the wedding apart," she said.
