Jon Snow ready to stop the show to help hospital

Peter Dominiczak12 April 2012

Newsreader Jon Snow is to take a break from political journalism to give an all-singing, all-dancing performance in a musical.

The broadcaster will have a cameo role in a performance of Showstopper! at the Questors theatre in Ealing tomorrow. The one-off performance is in aid of St Mark's hospital in Harrow.

The Channel 4 presenter said: "I've been told the rest of the cast are going to see me through. I know I have to sing and I have to act. I'm a fully trained former chorister from Winchester Cathedral but I haven't sung since then so I'm sure I'll make a fool of myself. I shall be suitably petrified."

He has also been booked to appear at this year's Edinburgh Festival as a stand-up comic.
