Jordan's king pledges help for new Iraq

13 April 2012

Jrdan's King Abdullah says he would be willing to send troops to help the new Iraqi government. He had initially refused to send troops to Iraq.

The king said he wanted to support Iraqi prime minister Iyad Allawi's interim government.

"I presume that if the Iraqis ask us for help directly, it would be very difficult for us to say no," he said in a BBC interview.

"Our message is: Tell us what you want. Tell us how we can help. You have 110 per cent support from us."
