Junk food ads under attack

Children as young as two are being put at risk by the marketing of junk food, a report claims today.

Household brands and fast-food outlets are criticised for promoting unhealthy diets.

A report by the Food Commission - Broadcasting Bad Health - calls for controls on food marketing and on the use of sports stars and celebrities in adverts.

It says that for every 64p spent by the World Health Organisation on preventing diseases caused by western diets, more than £320 is spent by the food industry promoting unhealthy products.
