Keane: We can finish in top four

Optimistic: Robbie Keane still thinks Tottenham can finish in the top four despite the club languishing in the bottom half of the Premiership

Robbie Keane still thinks Tottenham can finish in the top four this season.

Spurs' prospects dipped massively with a poor start and manager Martin Jol's departure but the arrival of Juande Ramos has given the players cause for optimism.

They are already 14 points off fourth spot and in the lower half of the table but Keane, who is a doubt for the Republic of Ireland's dead rubber against Wales tomorrow because of a foot injury, said it would be stupid to count them out.

The striker said: "Top four was the aim and we thought that was realistic. We're struggling at the moment, but we have the players and the manager to do well. The only way is up.

"We're not stupid enough to think it'll be easy to make up ground on the teams at the top of the table. But it's still only November and there's a long way to go.

"I'd be daft to say we will get a Champions League place, but you'd be just as daft to say we can't."
