Klum is model mum-to-be

Supermodel Heidi Klum is expecting a baby with Formula One boss Flavio Briatore, the couple announced today.

German-born Klum, 30, and 53-year-old Briatore have been dating for the past year.

A statement issued on behalf of the couple said: "Heidi Klum and Italian businessman Flavio Briatore are happy to announce they are expecting a child in the spring."

Multi-millionaire Briatore, the Italian boss of the Renault Formula One team, is a former boyfriend of Naomi Campbell.

In an interview earlier this year, he said: "Heidi is the one, I know that. She's fantastic.

"With our relationship, everything is possible. I'm not ruling anything out. Marriage, a family - with Heidi I can imagine doing all that. I am happier than I've ever been."

Asked what she saw in silver-haired Briatore, Klum replied: "His charisma and his manner are what's important, not appearance."
