Korea's new Kim rallies the troops

North Korea's new leader Kim Jong Un poses with an elite tank unit as part of his campaign to consolidate power.

Soldiers chanted his name as he made an inaugural solo trip to provide "on the spot guidance" in the first official documentary about him shown on North Korean TV. At one point, Kim leaned in to pull an officer close to share a few words, leaving him in tears.

"Kim Jong Un's telling the world that even though he's young, he's in charge and capable of wielding a sabre like his father did," said Kim Jin-moo, a North Korea expert at the Institute for Defence Analysis in South Korea.
