Lord's offers Olympic help

Lord's, the world's most famous cricket ground, could become part of London's bid to host the 2012 Olympic Games.

The MCC has offered the use of facilities such as the modern and spacious indoor school for the Games themselves and is also happy for other sites within Lord's to be used for meetings and presentations associated with promoting London's campaign.

"We are keen to help London's bid team in any way we can," said MCC secretary Roger Knight.

"Lord's can offer some excellent facilities, a worldwide sporting reputation and a long track record of staging top class sport in the capital."
