Love Hewitt opens Harrods sale

13 April 2012

Hollywood actress Jennifer Love Hewitt arrived in a horse-drawn carriage to open the Harrods sale this morning.

The star stepped from the green and gold carriage, pulled by two black horses, to be greeted by Harrods chairman Mohamed al Fayed just before 9am.

She waved to fans and said she loved being in London for the start of the famous winter sale.

Dressed in white trousers, a white jacket and pale blue scarf, Love Hewitt joined crowds for the traditional countdown to 9am.

Overnight a handful of shoppers had waited in bitterly cold weather, and this morning hundreds more queued in the pouring rain.

Their patience was rewarded when four pipers arrived to entertain them at the Knightsbridge store.

A red Lotus car, which could be won in the sale, was paraded along Hans Crescent.

Mr Al Fayed said good morning and waved to eager shoppers before leading Love Hewitt on a tour of Harrods' best bargains.
