Major Ferguson's will revealed

The Duchess of York's father, Major Ronald Ferguson, left more than £1 million in his will, it was confirmed today. Major Ferguson, who died in March aged 71, left the money to his second wife and remaining family.

The former polo manager to Prince Charles was diagnosed with cancer in 1996. He vowed to beat it but suffered a setback when he began chemotherapy for melanoma.

His marriage to the Duchess's mother ended in 1974. He remarried in 1976 and had three children with his second wife.
