Man found shot at West End club

12 April 2012

A man is seriously ill today after being shot at a West End nightclub.

He was found at about 3am in the doorway of the Astoria club in Charing Cross Road, where the south London MOBO-award winners So Solid Crew had been performing.

The man, thought to be in his early twenties, was taken to a central London hospital where he had surgery for gunshot wounds.

A second man, described as black, was taken by friends to another London hospital. His injuries are not believed to be lifethreatening.

Police are investigating whether the shooting is linked to another incident early yesterday, when a black man in his twenties was found with gunshot wounds near the Astoria, slumped in a silver Renault Clio. He died later.

So Solid Crew is a collection of rappers, garage MCs, DJs and producers aged between 18 and 26 who grew up in and around the Badrick Court estate in Clapham.
