Man from Mars lands at Uniq

Nick Goodway12 April 2012

ST IVEL yoghurt maker Uniq has ended its five-month hunt for a new chief executive with the appointment of Bill Ronald, 46, formerly managing director of Mars UK.

Ronald was with the confectionery giant for 23 years. Uniq chairman Nigel Stapleton, who ousted previous chief executive Terry Stannard last September as the group issued a profits warning, said: 'Bill has strong leadership qualities and an excellent track record in the food industry, working in a very strong performancedriven business culture.'

Details of Berkshire-based Ronald's remuneration package were not given but are similar to those of his predecessor, who earned £325,000 last year.
