Seydou Diarrassouba: Killed after a fight broke out at a Foot Locker sports shoe store on London's Oxford Street
13 April 2012

A man will appear in court today charged with the murder of a teenager who was stabbed in the heart on the UK's busiest shopping street.

Seydou Diarrassouba, 18, was killed on Boxing Day after a fight broke out at the Foot Locker store on London's Oxford Street.

Thulani Khumalo, 20, was later charged with his murder. Relatives of Mr Diarrassouba, from Mitcham, south-west London, paid tribute to the teenager, saying: "Seydou kept us upright and now we feel weak as we have lost a very special part of us.

"Life seems meaningless without our special son and brother."

Seven males - two aged 22, three aged 16 and others aged 20 and 17 - have been arrested and bailed in connection with the police probe.

Khumalo, of Etherley Road, in Haringey, north London, will appear in custody today at Hendon Magistrates' Court, north west London.
