Manila 'calamity' as floods hit Philippines

A state of calamity was declared in Manila and 25 provinces in the Philippines after tropical storm Ketsana caused a month's rain to fall in less than 12 hours.

At least 100 people were said to be dead and scores were missing today. Entire towns were swamped by floods and landslides.
