Max Clifford ‘will drop phone hacker case against News of the World ’

Max Clifford was today said to be on the verge of dropping a court case over the interception of his voicemail messages.

The PR agent began a High Court action against the News of the World after royal correspondent Clive Goodman was jailed for tapping into phone messages.

A judge had previously ordered the paper to disclose details of the hacking.
