May Day flashpoint update
Oxford Street: About five hundred protesters walked peacefully down the main shopping street. There was a police presence here too, but no trouble.
Earlier today, Critical Mass converged here briefly, causing disruption to transport.
Last year Oxford Circus was the central flashpoint as police formed a wall, keeping thousands of protesters penned in.
Mayfair: A number of protesters have grouped together at Speakers Corner and are walking around Mayfair. There are two groups of about 200 people.
Conduit Street, off Regent Street: A small protest by London Animal Action against fur trade was peaceful.
A protest at Horseferry Road magistrates' court by members of the "Wombles" - White Overall Movement Building Liberations through Effective Struggle - ended without incident. Seven of their members are standing trial for alleged public order offences.

Grosvenor Square: The Critical Mass cycle group arrived shortly after 10 am this morning but moved off at around 10.45. The group say they aim to keep moving to prevent being penned in by police.
An environmental campaign group calling for the US to support the Kyoto international agreement which is aimed at trying to control climate change met in Grosvenor Square.
Other flashpoints where trouble is expected today:
Soho: parade by "sex workers" through the streets.

No major disruption as yet to tube services.
Bus routes: The TUC march takes the following route: Clerkenwell Road, Theobolds Road, Drake Street, Proctor Street, High Holborn, Kingsway, Aldwych, The Strand, Trafalgar Square. All bus services covering these streets are subject to delays, derailments and diversions.
