Merchant Taylor find next level

12 April 2012

Merchant Taylor School's record-breaking season has put them in pole position for December Team of the Month in the Standard 1st XV super league.

Their only loss of the season was 29-5 to a powerful Epsom but they have since become the school's most successful team, beating the achievements of the 1933 1st XV. On Saturday they saw off Haberdashers 39-5.

First placed St Benedict's face a genuine test tomorrow in the Daily Mail Cup sixth round with a trip to Hurstpierpoint in Sussex, another rapidly improving South East school.

Halliford have moved into third place, while Wellington, KCS Wimbledon, St Paul's and Tonbridge are all showing traditional strengths.
