Met sex attacker officer is promoted

12 April 2012

A senior Met officer who is facing a misconduct hearing for alleged failings to catch a serial sex attacker has been promoted.

Superintendent Sue Knight was one of three senior officers who were criticised by a police watchdog for failing to properly investigate the crimes of sex attacker Kirk Reid.

The three officers who supervised the inquiry face a misconduct hearing and the possibility they could be sacked or demoted.

Ms Knight, who is in her forties, has since been promoted to superintendent in the child abuse investigations command. The Met declined to comment on the promotion.
