Mitsubishi sees operating profit soar

JAPANESE electronics conglomerate Mitsubishi Electric said its operating profit rose to 27.3bn yen (£142m) in October-December, compared with 6.12bn yen a year earlier.

A recovery in capital spending by electronics makers led to brisk orders for its factory equipment.
