MPs demand probe into high fuel bills energy bills

Energy suppliers which have failed to slash household fuel bills should be investigated by the Competition Commission, MPs said today.

Labour MP John Grogan tabled a Commons motion, backed by more than 50 MPs, for the watchdog to investigate the "big six" firms.

British Gas, EDF, E.ON, Scottish Power and Scottish and Southern cut bills by a fraction of the drop in the wholesale cost of energy.
