'Mr Loophole' works magic again to put brakes on Meg case

The lawyer nicknamed 'Mr Loophole' appears to have worked his magic again as a speeding case against Oasis star Noel Gallagher's ex-wife was dropped.

Meg Mathews, 40, had been due to face magistrates in Thetford, Norfolk, on allegations that she was caught driving her Porsche at 103mph on the A11 dual carriageway at Bridgham, near Thetford, on 18 February.

But the Crown Prosecution Service decided to drop the case after she sought advice from solicitor Nick Freeman, known for helping to clear motorists on technicalities.

As a result of his intervention, she was not required to appear.

Mr Freeman helped former Top Gear presenter Tiff Needell, 55, escape prosecution this month for allegedly speeding at 91mph on a motorway.
