Neighbours praise 'kind heart' of murdered widow

12 April 2012

Neighbours of an 86-year-old widow who was murdered in her home paid tribute today to a woman with "a heart of gold".

A murder inquiry was launched after the body of Jean Patricia Jobson, known as Pat, was found at her terrace house in Downham, Bromley, on Sunday.

She had suffered head injuries and a post-mortem examination was taking place today.

Janine Feeney, who grew up near the victim's house in Oakridge Road, said: "Pat was a kind, sociable lady who did a lot for her neighbours."

Another friend said: "She had a tongue like a razor, but a heart of gold. She never had children. She was a nurse, a bus conductor and a major in the Army years ago."
