New spy secrets to be revealed

The girlfriend of rogue MI5 officer David Shayler has today shocked intelligence chiefs by announcing plans to publish a book about her time in the security services.

Annie Machon's book, Anarchy In The UK, will include details of the unmasking of a former trade unionist who was a Soviet agent and expand on Shayler's original allegations of MI6 involvement in the attempted assassination of Libyan leader Colonel Gadaffy. Shayler was jailed for six months for breaches of the Official Secrets Act last year.

Miss Machon said: "We are doing this to put our side of the story."
