Next planning a wedding service

13 April 2012

HIGH Street fashion giant Next reported a storming set of profits and sales figures and declared it would launch a wedding list service.

Next is set for a big push into home furnishings and is fitting out a warehouse for the Home range at a cost of £8m.

The 358-strong chain said today that, as well as the service for couples wanting to stock wardrobes and furnish homes, it was launching a host of lingerie products.

Today, it beat expectations with like-for-like sales up 3% in the past seven weeks. Pre-tax profits in the year to 31 January were £245.3 m against £210.5m the year before on sales of £2.52bn (£2.2bn). The dividend is 35p a share against 31p last year.
