Our boys win because they eat what they like, says Slovenia chef

Fabio Capello's tough regime was criticised today by the team that will attempt to ensure England make an early World Cup exit.

The Slovenians landed in Port Elizabeth to be met by their Wags, freedom to visit popular tourist spot The Boardwalk and tuck into their favourite foods such as steak and Nutella chocolate spread.

In contrast, England's failure to win a game in South Africa has been blamed on boredom, a strict diet and the players' separation from wives and families. The England coach has banned butter and brought in such items as olive oil, dried apricots, sushi rice, cereals, pasta, cottage cheese, noodles, pine nuts and low-fat caesar salad dressing.

Slovenian team chef Valentin Janezic said: "Our team has to be prepared for a match but they are men who can eat what they like. They love the beef steaks that I cook and having Nutella chocolate for breakfast. They can even have a beer after matches." He added: "Maybe our boys are happier and more successful because they have the food they love in their stomachs."
