Paedophile spoof draws viewers

More people tuned in to see a repeat of a Channel 4 Brass Eye spoof on paedophilia last night than watched it originally, viewing figures showed today.

Chris Morris's show drew 1.5 million viewers last night, up by 200,000. The programme was the most complained about of 2001, with 922 people lodging their upset with the Independent Television Commission.

The ITC ordered the broadcaster to apologise, saying viewers were not given sufficient warning about the nature of the programme first time around. Preceded last night by an extensive caution, it drew 50 complaints.
