12 April 2012

A talented photographer has died after falling from a central London balcony.

Tom Swain, 22, right, plunged from his friend's flat near King's Cross. He was doing a BA photo-journalism degree course at London College of Communication in Camberwell.

His devastated family said in a statement today: "He was a much loved son, brother and uncle. He was incredibly compassionate and caring and will be missed by all."

Mr Swain, of Westmill, Herts, who covered news events as a freelance, had multiple injuries. An inquest has been opened and adjourned.
