Pink Floyd cover band take technology out of cinema and into concert hall

Pink Floyd's animations are to be brought to life in what has been billed as the world's first live 3D music show.

The audience will wear 3D glasses as images are projected onto a 20ft screen when The Australian Pink Floyd Show comes to the Hammersmith Apollo on March 20.

The concert is the result of a chance meeting between the cover band's drummer, Paul Bonney, and John Attard, a visual effects expert. Mr Attard, who has worked on films such as Gladiator, created new images and reworked original animations by Gerald Scarfe. "The 3D is about making the whole thing a lot more immersive," he said.
